At Caversham AFC, we offer fun, safe and engaging football at the heart of the community. We are also an Inclusive and supportive club, meaning we offer children of all abilities the chance to both train and play in matches. We are not an elitist or selective club, or one that aims to win at all costs.
We expect every coach across Caversham AFC to maintain and encourage these values. In addition, every coach should understand and act from a principle that the team you coach/manage is a team that belongs to the club.
Th streaming policy serves to provide important guidance on how the club expects teams and age groups to manage players, and in particular streaming and fair playtime.
The Club has always applied the streaming principles and expects all our coaches to adhere to this for the enjoyment of the players at our club. We would urge everyone to think of streaming as “Right Fit – Right Motivation”, meaning if a player is playing at the right level for them, they will be much more likely to find enjoyment and be motivated to be part of a team. This applies to all players across an age group where there are multiple teams, not just one team. All coaches need to be mindful of all players within the age group not just their team.
By setting out clearly the expectations of all our club coaches, our aim is to minimise any friction, or eliminate any potential conflict across teams within a year group, to propagate a culture that has the best interest of every player at heart, and to promote fair play time for all our players.
