On a beautiful sunny day at Reading City stadium, the team soaked up early pressure, with a couple of fantastic saves from our keeper Zack, to take a first half lead with a fine finish from Euan.
AFC were the more dominant side in the second half and extended their lead with a long free kick from Alex, which wrong footed the keeper to make it 2-0. Any hope of a stress free end to the game were soon dashed when Maidenhead pulled one back to make it a frantic finish. However AFC held on to secure a brilliant victory and win the trophy!
A superb climax to an unusual season. A proper game with a proper crowd in a proper stadium. A day the boys will no doubt remember for the rest of their lives, as will Neil and the rest of the coaching team who couldn’t be prouder of each and every player who have all improved so much over the season.
