Boyne Hill 0 - 4 Caversham AFC

Caversham secured a BCGFL Cup semi-final spot with a comfortable win over Boyne Hill at their Summerleaze ground. The first half saw a tight and competitive game with only Evie's early goal the difference at half-time. However, Boyne Hill had certainly caused some early problems and with a couple of goals correctly ruled out for off-side, there was certainly no place for any complacency. Strong defensive performances from Lianna, Olivia, Niamh and Leah ensured Boyne Hill created few real chances during the game and on the occasions when Boyne Hill did break through the defence, Serena was on hand with some brave and assured goal keeping to claim her first clean sheet of the season. At the other end Martha put in a solid performance in a new midfield role with Ruby and player of the match Saffron causing plenty of problems for Boyne Hill down the wings. Up front the new strike partnership of Daisy and Evie once again proved fruitful as their combination play took the Boyne Hill defence apart. With Caversham having created enough chances to wrap the game up in the first half it was important that they didn't let Boyne Hill back in the game and as the second half progressed Caversham's dominance made that look increasingly unlikely. Evie's second and her 10th of the season came quickly before Daisy cracked in a powerful shot for her 7th of the season midway through the second half to secure the win. Ruby and Serena both had good chances to extend the lead as it looked like Caversham might run riot, but it was left to Evie to claim her second hatrick in consecutive weeks with a superbly taken 4th goal towards the end of the game.
