The blustery and freezing conditions did not prevent the friendly going ahead between Caversham and Berks County FC on a near perfect pitch at Coworth Flexands School in Surrey. Berks County may not yet be in the league or have played many competitive games, but they passed the ball well and clearly had some skilful players and it was obvious from the start that this game would be no walkover for Caversham. With the wind behind them in the first half Berks County had most of the territorial advantage and although a dis-organised Caversham defence looked vulnerable, Serena was rarely troubled in the first half. Just before half time Caversham broke and with Tia clear through on goal the Berks County defender mistimed the tackle. The resulting free kick was well saved. but in the goal mouth scramble that followed Evie added to her goal tally for the season with a good finish. The second half saw Berks County continue to make chances and the warning came when they hit the post from distance. The equaliser came from a great finish that Martha, the player of the match could do nothing to stop. Clear cut chances remained few and far between, but towards the end another Caversham break resulted in another goal mouth scramble that could have seen Caversham take the win. However it would have been harsh on Berks County and Caversham came away with a deserved hard earned draw.
