Sandhurst Town 1 - 0 Caversham AFC

Caversham AFC returned to Clayfield Copse after a 3 month absence when their away fixture got moved by Sandhurst Town. Caversham put in a good performance against a Sandhurst team pushing to win the league, but were undone by a swift counter attack towards the end of the game. Sandhurst's goal was well executed, but it came on the counter after Caversham had created the best chance of game that saw Evie unable to find the touch that would have meant a certain goal and possible victory for Caversham. The game itself was a robust midfield encounter that saw few real chances on goal. Caversham bounced back from their disappointment at Boyne Hill with one of their best performances of the season that saw plenty of movement off the ball and some good passing especially from player of the match Saffron. Grace controlled the defence in the first half and a combination of Olivia, Leah, Martha and Niamh ensured Serena was well protected in goal and had little to do in the first half. Anna made an assured debut for Caversham as Daisy, Tia, Helena and Ruby all caused problems for Sandhurst. A switch from 3-4-1 to 3-3-2 for the last 15 minutes with Tia and Evie up front and Ruby, Grace and Daisy in midfield really took the game to Sandhurst and Caversham were unfortunate not to get a point from the game and might even have taken all three.
