Caversham went into the game against table toppers Winnersh Rangers Diamonds at Bearwood Recreation Ground expecting a difficult game. Caversham were slow to start and found themselves behind to a soft goal early in the game when Martha struggled to deal with a skidding shot from distance. This kick started Caversham who kept their shape and started to find some passes. With Tia, Daisy, Evie, Ruby, Grace and Serena all making it difficult for the Winnersh midfield and defence, they could probably have counted themselves unfortunate not to have brought the game level after arguably making the better chances in the first half. An excellent, well organised defence by Helena, Olivia, Niamh and Helen kept Winnersh at bay as Martha confidently handled the ball, making one superb stand out save towards half-time. After the break Caversham found the equaliser when Ruby slotted a ball through the defence to Evie who finished well. Caversham were now on the up and it looked for a time like the game was theirs to win. However some superb finishing by Winnersh, who exploited some defensive mistakes took the game away from Caversham in the last quarter. With Winnersh finishing the game strongly there could be no complaints, but 4 - 1 was harsh on Caversham who played well and could certainly count themselves unfortunate when a Ruby lob over the keeper hit the post near the end.
