Tilehurst Panthers Colts x-x Caversham AFC

Caversham ended their goal drought with two well worked and well taken goals from Ruby Lethbridge and Daisy Mifflin in their final game of the BCGFL Spring Cup at Kensington Road. Through good organisation and plenty of hard work Caversham had dominated large parts of the first half and created many chances before going behind against the run of play just before half time. This sparked a fantastic response from Caversham who came out determined to get something from the game in the second half.The equaliser came from a defence splitting pass to put Ruby Lethbridge through one on one with the keeper. Ruby kept her composure to pick her spot and find the back of the net for her third goal of the season in the BCGFL. With Caversham now in the ascendency they seemed destined for their first victory of 2015, but a well taken long shot then put Tilehurst back ahead. There was still time though for Daisy Mifflin to save the game for Caversham and in a carbon copy of Ruby's earlier goal, she found a composed finish to beat the keepr when she got on the end of another defense splittling through ball. It was the least Caversham deserved from the game and a first BCGFL goal for Daisy Mifflin was reward for her commitment this season.
