Tilehurst Panthers Stripes x-x Caversham AFC

Caversham went into their second double header game of week 2 of the BCGFL Cup knowing only a win would give them any chance of qualifying for the final. Caversham dominated most of the game with Tia Evans controlling midfield and Daisy Mifflin, Ruby Lethbridge and Helena Short creating excellant chances to win the game. With Tilehurst on the back foot and Caversham not taking their chances there was always the danger of a break away goal from Tilehurst. A warning came when Tilehurst hit a post late in the second half and then deep into added time a deflected shot found it's way through the Caversham defence. It was elation for Tilehurst and heartbreak for Caversham after what was a fully committed performance that deserved something from the game.
